Bathing in the sun in the southeast corner of the apothecary, overlooking the biodynamic garden, the feeling of spring is approaching. The act of going outside and working on small projects feels nourishing, and I can’t help but notice that, in my personal life, I’ve been going through an identity shift, where my spirit is tending to little projects in corners to improve the operations of my landscape.

In the book Self-Knowledge (Ātmabodha), translated by Swami Nikhilananda, he writes, “As fire is the direct cause of cooking, so Knowledge, and not any other form of discipline, is the direct cause of Liberation; for Liberation cannot be attained without Knowledge.”

He then continues to say, “Action cannot destroy ignorance, for it is not in conflict with ignorance. Knowledge alone destroys ignorance, as light destroys dense darkness.”

Basically, you can choose to act in ignorance without wisdom because action is not akin to liberation and wisdom. We see many examples of this in our personal lives and in the world. When our intentions seem right, but we act without deeper wisdom.

However, gaining knowledge destroys ignorance, allowing us to move toward liberation.

Super heady, deep, and an ever-living lifetime of practice because we often don’t know what we don’t know until we realize it.

I find that these moments cause identity shifts, especially when the lessons are intense enough to prompt reflection and create a new landscape for us to navigate.

The changes happening in my life are so extensive and are lessons I have repeatedly learned, but I am now ready to put them into practice.

These lessons demand more from me than ever before.

Nature created the perfect conditions for me to confront the parts of myself that need to be reviewed, shifted, and evolved. This process aims to create a better environment for my business, life, and love.

The self-Knowledge book is one I have used for decades to integrate deep insights. It provides a return to non-duality and has been the foundation for one of my most popular group integration programs called Gnosis.

So, how does this relate to you and the world?

We are at a major turning point, one we’ve experienced in history before, and we must remember that history books are written by the “victors” or those in charge of what we read. What is missing from those books is the heart of the people there; the solutions created by society, the coming together that enabled lineage to continue.

What isn’t written is that those who have gained knowledge to cure their ignorance have created liberty for their family and ancestors, and provided resilience for the world.

Those stories are embedded in your DNA, the fabric of our culture, and in books that not everyone reads, including me.

Stories are acted out, create art, and shape the dynamics of who we are. Over the past three years, the identities I try on and evolve seem to be failing, yet they continue to guide me toward deeper insights, helping me integrate lessons, shift timelines, and develop new patterns that ripple outward, preparing me for the highest expression of spirit and soul like mine.

The practice of integrity and values that attract those who genuinely want to create a world we want to live in.

My encouragement:

keep failing, allow yourself to be wrong so you can discover what you don’t know, and let knowledge illuminate your ignorance. Shift your perspective, and remember that you are part of a history that might not be written in books but will be written in DNA and culture.

Therefore, what you provide in your local community is exactly what the world needs. Don’t get overwhelmed or lose sight of why you are here.
