How to Keep Yourself Moving Forward

Take a moment and ask yourself, how do you define success? What is perfection? How do they serve you or hold you back?

I sometimes define success by my self-worth. I define success as having accomplished a particular goal at a particular moment in time.

I define perfection as a way to present myself to the world in a way that is perceived as perfect. As an artist, perfection can decide whether I release something, share, or hide.

However, this perfection is only defined by my visual lens.

How does someone know when you’re not being perfect?

For me, it means that they see my flaws. That I’m not presented perfectly.

Does wanting to be perfect hold you back?

It holds me back at times, but the difference is I see that block coming through strong, my inner voice saying, “When I do this, have this, it will be perfect, and I can move forward, share my truth, the thing I’m working on.”

When I hear that voice beginning to chime in on my life, I know I’m onto something juicy. I think the process, the imperfection, might be worth sharing.

I don’t know about you, but I love seeing those process videos where you see how messed up something is and how good it looks. Is it perfect? Probably not, but is it satisfying to watch? Yes!

What are you holding yourself back from today because you are waiting for the perfect moment, the ideal timing to do, share, or be?

Lately, I’ve been re-working my website, and I was thinking, “Oh, I’m going to do a soft launch, where my website changes, but not share that it’s happened, not until I have the group program pages perfect and the courses set up in the right way. Then I will share.”

You know what, though?

That inhibits you from seeing the process of a dream creation.

I want you to see the process and witness what I’ve been inspired to share.

You must know what I’m creating because it’s for you!

While I am working on the final name, I decided to call the program ‘Untitled’. Who knows? Maybe that’s the name.

The name is an ode to the artist who is ready to bring you into the experience and knows that the interaction with the public creates the title.
