What does the role of masculinity mean to you? Are you apart from masculinity?
I’ve spent much time over the decades pondering the difference between masculine + feminine especially since I was little + wanted to do the outdoor chores but was forced to do the inside chores.
“Boys mow the lawn, girls wash the dishes,” my mother would say to me.
I would fume + make a huge stink about how I was strong enough to mow the lawn, older + wiser. Eventually, it did become my job, along with everything else in the house chores despite sex when my brother was too young, my parents were divorced and I was left to assist my mom.
Therefore, I started to think I was worthy because of these roles, but they’re really only gender roles, not the true essence.
When I was slaving away at my corporate jobs + government jobs I started to see how the gender roles really were fucked. For those of you who work in corporate, do you know what I mean?
It made me want to be even more “masculine” to prove that I was something, worthy of notice but really I didn’t want to work that hard for something that didn’t feed my soul. I started to feel less than, not worthy + if somehow I was weak, feminine + nothing.
My soul longed for the balance within myself as a masculine warrior + feminine soft, however, I was looking at the structures of masculine + feminine completely wrong.
I was using the gender roles pushed by society as my compass. What the fuck was I thinking?
If I’ve learned anything in life, almost anything popular in thought, question it. Even when it comes to the “new age spiritual.” Hell, Question EVERYTHING.
Basically, I gave a big Fuck you + dipped out of that world, it didn’t make sense to me.
I search for the ancient wisdom, the wisdom inside.
This brings me to the knowledge of Father Earth.
One day while calling on the directions I said Mother Earth, Father Earth, I call you in. It felt so right to acknowledge that it’s Earth.
I find both energetics of masculine + feminine to be nourishing, life-giving, designed to fuel one’s life + soul purpose.
The dualities are expressed to show us the whole. Without the dualities, the whole would be invisible + my realization is that knowing the whole is the divine part of being alive. The blips in time where it all makes sense + all dualities cease to exist. Where my soul purpose is connected fully to the divine. The circle of life if you would.
Therefore, fertility that is associated with mother earth is also contained within the masculine. There is a birthing that comes from both of the dualities, there can be more division into different parts of matter, or you could birth upward into the idea of wholeness. This is the phenomenon of numbers and math. Eventually, the parts always add up to some type of whole. Or the whole is divided into the parts.
None separate from the other.
This is why I’m unable to see the difference between the duality yet I notice the dualities, so I can observe the outline of the whole, tracing along the shape of the divine to find my path towards destiny + harmony with the fertile abundant regenerative nature of the whole.
The masculine + feminine energy is so FUCKING powerful. This is why it’s been taught to us as divided because when you have both within you’re whole, powerful + harmonized.
The last thing I will say about our roles in gender + how that works with masculine + feminine energetics is that it’s our responsibility to lift up all human beings if we want to be whole, powerful + united. This has nothing to do with what your gender is, but everything to do about being a Human here on Earth.
